Heike Karge is Professor of Southeast European History and Anthropology at the University of Graz (Austria). She received her PhD from the European University Institute in Florence and her habilitation from the University of Regensburg. Her key research interest is the cultural and social history of Southeastern Europe, with a special focus on the history of medicine and psychiatry, war, violence, memory, and trauma.
